Biology
Arctovish is a Fossil Pokémon that can be made out of the Fossilized Fish and Fossilized Dino. Arctovish have incredibly strong, protective skin on their heads, but their heads are upside down, causing them to have difficulties eating prey they capture.
The skin on Arctovish's face is completely immune to attacks and while freezing its surroundings is how it hunts prey, it can have a hard time eating it due to the mouth on the top of its head. It could not breathe very well, leading to its extinction. Their bodies feature many abnormalities that make it difficult for these Pokémon to live well.
It is unknown what the Galar Fossil Pokémon looked like when they were alive in their proper forms.
Design & origin
Arctovish is one of four Fossil Pokémon composed of pairs of parts haphazardly put together, appearing to be inspired by the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs as well as similarly inaccurate reconstructions of dinosaurs. Other aspects of the creatures appear to be based on hoaxes and paleontological forgeries such as Charles Dawson's Piltdown Man.
The various Fossils appear to be based on different types of dinosaurs, such as the stegosaurus, paravians, and dunkleosteus.
