Biology

Applin is a small inchworm-like Pokémon that takes shelter in a cored apple its whole life. It evolves into Flapple or Appletun depending on the item it is given: Tart Apples evolve Applin into Flapple and Sweet Apples evolve it into Appletun. Dipplin is a third evolutionary path.

If it is attacked by a bird Pokémon, it pretends to be an apple and nothing more.

Design & origin

Applin's worm-like body may be inspired by wyrms, and it appears to be based on the Lindwurm.
