Biology

Scorbunny are energetic rabbit-like Pokémon said to always be running. A bipedal rabbit with primarily white fur and red-and-orange accents, Scorbunny has traits similar to rabbits, including floppy ears, a puffy tail, buck teeth, and big feet.

It can run long and fast enough for the soles of its feet to ignite fires; the flammable patches on the bottom of its feet work like flint, which causes it to leave burning footprints. It also has a fire-sac in its chest which becomes more powerful the more Scorbunny runs. A patch on its nose, resembling a bandage, also generates heat. Scorbunny evolves into Raboot before eventually evolving into its final form, Cinderace.

Design & origin

Scorbunny was designed to complement Grookey and Sobble: where Sobble is shy and Grookey is the "mood maker," Scorbunny was designed to be energetic and mischievous. Director Shigeru Ohmori stated that the bandage-like patch on its nose was meant to give a sense that it could run off or cause trouble; its bandage motif is a common one in Japan.
