Biology

Regirock, Regice, and Registeel are part of a trio of Pokémon said to have been created by Regigigas, which in Pokémon lore towed continents into place and created the five inorganic Regis. The group is referred to as the "legendary giants", "legendary titans", "legendary golems", or "Regis", and all of them are sealed away. Regirock is composed entirely of rocks, with no known organs.

If its body is damaged, it can graft other rocks onto its body to fix itself.

Design & origin

During development of Ruby and Sapphire, designer Ken Sugimori and his team decided to create more complex humanoid designs, in contrast with the more "babyish" designs of the prior games.
