Biology

Steelix is a snake-like Pokémon. It is the evolution of Onix, occurring when an Onix is exposed to high amounts of pressure underground and consumption of iron, converting its body into a metallic diamond-like structure. Steelix is capable of burrowing to the Earth's core. It can weigh over 400 kilograms (880 lb).

Design & origin

Steelix's name is a combination of "steel" and "onyx".

Forms

Mega Steelix

Mega Steelix appears as a larger Steelix with 7 crystalline spears jutting from its body, as well as a circle of iron around its neck.
